Getting jobbed!

I went to a wedding in Iowa this weekend, and paid 2.89 for gas in Dubuque. A twenty-cent difference on that particular day.

We're getting jobbed, folks.

is this some smarty and/or inside joke reference? bible Job? Steve Jobs? does it mean you paid more? try $3.45 in san diego, baby.

I love the idea of it being a reference to the biblical Job.

And while I don't think I've heard this one before, I just assumed it meant something similar to "getting janked."

Yeah. It's bad news. I fully realize that elsewhere people pay more, it's the fact that it's not the same price everywhere . . .

I think it orginally comes from the phrase "screw job." As in, "They are giving us the screw job." "We are getting screwed."

Hey, now that I've moved to Dubuque, I can say that cheap gas is only one of its most obvious advantages.

Seriously, I've gone from the Land of Beer and Cheese to the Land of Corn and Pigs. I bloody well ought to get cheap gas out of it!
