For Your Consideration is worth seeing, but it is not nearly as good as Guest's three prior films. It is not, sorry to ruin the surprise, a mockumentary, so don't go expecting one. If the film has 20 scenes, 15 are really funny, they just don't add up all that successfully. In some ways if it was less plot driven and more episodic it would have worked better. Either way, you should go, just for John Michael Higgins. He is definitely the best, though both Jane Lynch and Fred Willard are good, and Harry Shearer does well. Eugene Levy seems largely wasted. Wait for the poster scene in particular.
If nothing else, FYC should be admired for its relentless satire. It's brutal.
