A note on work.

I just spent an hour reading past dissertations chaired by my advisor. (Let's call him "Purple Beret"--no, not "Raspberry Beret"; he isn't Prince.) I suppose my goal was to get a glimpse of what the finished product should look like. Don't do it! It just reminds you that yours isn't done. Though I did find out that Purple Beret has chaired 14 of them to date, and that up until ~2000 you only needed 3 readers.

3 readers! Nice. I'm still not sure why the hell we need 5. I mean, I understand the whole "more input" etc. thing, but honestly, does that actually work, practically speaking?
