Saw _Art School Confidential_ over the weekend. It was pretty good. The bullshit that goes on in art seminars is definitely transferable to most other humanities, I believe. I'm not sure why all the critics are down on the serial killer plot. If anything, the serial killer plot is the main plot, and the art school stuff is a side plot. Either way, it's worth seeing. And Jim Broadbent is always entertaining.
I don't watch any of these t.v. shows, so I have nothing to say about them. (And I don't feel that bad about it.)

One thing's for sure: that movie could have used a little Jason Schwartzman. And more stuff with the roommates and a little less jackass commentary from the back row of the theater. Your "Don't make me throw nickels at you!" threat was wasted on them.
