2 Random Things.

I think this still counts as a post for last week, even though it's Sunday. I'm still trying to keep up with the once a week schedule.

It is well known that I like stupid movies. For a long time now, I think, there have only been three that are untouchable in the stupid movie firmament: Spaceballs, Kingpin, and National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation. I think there now may be a fourth, Step Brothers. Have you seen this? If you haven't, you should. It is magnificently stupid.

I'm teaching two summer courses this summer. I'm certainly not turning down the money. One I think will be a repeat of the intro to lit courses I've been teaching. I'm not sure about the other. I think I'm trying to get something new together so I have another different course to put on my c.v. I might try to sell a topics course in frontier literature. I think I only need 12 kids to enroll, even though that cap is 21 I think. 12 kids out of 30,000 should be interested, right?

That sounds cool. What books would you teach?

I'm not quite sure yet. If they tell me I can do it, I'll probably start thinking about texts specifically.

[APBBR]: What books would you teach?
[TG]: I'll tell you if you let me do it.

When I was in middle school I was hopelessly in love with Basil Rathbone. (I think my copy of his autobiography is still in my parents' garage somewhere.)

Yeah, the Rathbone part was mostly for you, T.

And it was fully appreciated, trust me :)

Eh, they gave me Native Lit again . . . so I'll just have them read Native Lit on the frontier.
